SAN JUAN - Alfredo Cantu, Jr., 84, died Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at McAllen Medical Center in McAllen. Born in Fronton, Texas, he had lived in San Juan all of his life. He is preceded in death by two sons, Bobby and Eddie Cantu; his parents, Alfredo Sr. and Guadalupe S. Cantu; and an infant brother, Amador Cantu. Mr. Cantu is survived by his wife, Raquel Cantu of San Juan; a son, Javier (Diana) Cantu of Alamo; four grandchildren, Edward, Jill, Alyssa and Michael Cantu; two greatgrandchildren, Dashiel and Giabella Elliott; two sisters, Minerva Cantu of San Juan, Diola (Angel) Gonzalez of Dallas. Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Thursday, May 26, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 12:30 p.m. Friday, May 27, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment followed at San Juan Cemetery. Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
