RGV: A news reporter’s Valhalla

Lawyers, Guns, and Money
By G. Romero Wendorf

Seriously, out of all the counties in the U.S. I could think to live, I can think of none better than Hidalgo County. We have the kind of news that’s never boring. For a working journalist, investigative reporter, it’s akin to Valhalla.

Consider the stories The Advance is currently trying to assemble into some written format that makes sense (hopefully by next week):

• The Pharr Housing Authority. One side says the other side owes approximately $737,502 for back rent and late fees; the other side says it owes nothing. There seems to be a big spread between the two sides. Ya think?
