PHARR — Sylvia V. Perez, 79, went home to the Lord Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at her residence in Pharr. Sylvia was born in Pharr and lived all of her life. She was a member and choir singer at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. Mrs. Perez was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and friend. Her smile will live forever in every life she touched.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Agustin Perez; and parents, Faustino and Felipa Villarreal. Mrs. Perez is survived by four children, Humberto Perez, Sandra (Antonio) Cruz, Ivette (Ismael) De La Rosa, all of Pharr, Mirta (Javier) De La Rosa, of La Joya; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 3 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Thursday, Dec. 17, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment followed at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral service are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
