RAMONA C. GONZALEZ

ALAMO — Ramona C. Gonzalez, 93, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2015 at her residence in Alamo. Born in Eagle Lake, Texas, Ramona lived most of her life in Alamo. The years away from Alamo, she spent working in Hart, Texas where she had many fond memories of country life. Returning back to the valley she retired and loved helping her husband Arturo “El Charro” Gonzalez selling at the flea market in McAllen. Ramona was a loving and inspirational mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-greatgrandmother and aunt. She always gave good advice to the young children of our family and always made sure every person that came to visit had something to eat in her household. Ramona is blessed and shall be greatly missed. Mrs. Gonzalez is preceded in death by her husband Arturo “El Charro” Gonzalez; a daughter Herminia “Minita” Gonzalez; her parents Pablo and Marta Cordero. Mrs. Gonzalez is survived by four children, Carolina (+Genaro) Mancias, Evangelina “Beve” (+Isabel) Garza, both of Royse City, Texas, Tomas Jose “Tommy” (Susie) Gonzalez of Tulia, Texas and Silvia (Raul Balli) Garza of Alamo; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. May God Bless You Ramona and we love you with all our heart. The family would love to thank her wonderful providers, Francis Trevino, Mirna Villarreal, Gilberta Giles, Erika Haro, and Monica. Our long time loving, caring friend and nurse Connie De Luna, the nursing staff of Divine Healthcare, St. Benedict’s Home Health. Her compassionate and caring hospice nurses Teresa Ochoa, Gloria and Alicia of Doctor’s Hospital at Renaissance Hospice Care. But most of all we would love to thank Dr. Alberto Gutierrez and Dr. Antonio Wong and their excellent staff. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, November 17, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alamo. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
