Weslaco hires new attorney

WESLACO – By late summer, it was clear to at least four of the seven who sit on the city commission that something had to give. For Fiscal year 2015, the city had budgeted only approximately $389,000 for Weslaco’s legal department, but by August, city coffers had already coughed up $787,000 in legal fees, and was on track to end the year with total legal expenditures of close to $900,000, according to City Commissioner Greg Kerr, himself, coincidentally, an attorney.
