Violence south of the border:

Hidalgo County one of safest counties in state, says sheriff

How to convince or eduate people from out of the area that all the news they hear, see, or read about border violence isn’t applicable to the Rio Grande Valley in general, or Hidalgo County in particular? Who knows. Bad news sells. Good news gets overlooked.
