Trustees vote to dismiss their own judgment for personal liability?

Donna ISD lawsuit award cut
By G. Romero Wendorf

DONNA – Last week’s school board vote must have been a tough decision for the two of the four Donna ISD trustees who had been found personally liable in a federal court last month for political retaliation against six long-time school district employees who had made the unpardonable mistake of not siding with them in the last election.

Should they vote to absolve themselves of having to pay the plaintiffs $1.8 million collectively or not? And instead, let the school district’s insurance carrier (paid for with taxpayer dollars) pay to settle the civil matter?
