PSJA ISD elementary science teacher awarded Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics & Science

PHARR – Celena Miller, a science teacher at PSJA ISD’s Cesar Chavez Elementary in South Pharr was awarded the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching by President Barack Obama. The announcement was done August 22 by the White House Office of the Press Secretary. Miller was one of 213 mathematics and science teachers selected from across the country, one of two from Texas and the only one from the Rio Grande Valley to receive the prestigious award.
