PSJA ISD cuts ribbon on Palacios Elementary

Family, well-wishers, local public officials and colleagues turned out last Thursday morning to cut the ribbon on PSJA ISD’s new campus: the Berta S. Palacios Elementary, located at 801 E. Thomas Road in South Pharr. Mrs. Palacios, the honoree and hometown grad (PSJA class of ’57), retired as the district’s assistant superintendent of curriculum & instruction five years ago after spending nearly half a century working in the field of education. To commemorate the new school being named in their mother’s honor, her three children wrote the tribute printed below:
