Vet suicides appalling
As the politicians in the U.S. Congress parade around in support of our veterans on Veteran’s Day (officially Nov. 11), replete with flag waving and photo ops, one has to ask the question: Why can’t they do something to stem the rate of suicide among our military veterans, which currently stands at 20 per day? (Source: Stars and Stripes.)
That rate, by the way, is 22 percent higher than the general population.
