Indictment of executive secretary’s common-law husband draws case closer

ALAMO – November 5th , Mayoral Election Day in Alamo, may yet seem a far way off, but if you consider the current legal battles between the city and police chief; the chief and a suspended sergeant; city commission in-fighting over police business; not to mention the indictment of the city manager’s executive secretary on drug-related charges, and the time will fly by faster than your favorite novella on speed.

Time is short, however, so this week, The Advance will publish an overview of what led to the city secretary’s indictment, and then proceed to lay out the entire story next week. In other words, there are many more people in Alamo who have a story to tell.

In fact, if you add in the police chief’s lawsuit against the city to keep his job and share in punitive damages to the tune of approximately $100,000, not to mention a police sergeant suspension, and the Alamo police story gets somewhat convoluted.
