Asked why he decided not to run for re-election as Pharr city commissioner or give a shot at running for mayor, which was the gossip (chisme) going around town, Mario Bracamontes said he’s too busy with school work to serve as mayor, and besides, the city is doing well. Hard to run on a ticket against the incumbent mayor when there are no scandals on which to focus, he said during a recent interview.
