Hidalgo County unites in times of need
Ed. Note: I had a lot of news stories still left to write this week, most of them of the negative variety (the most popular variety), when I thought, you know what, take a break from the negative and concentrate on the positive. So often we are at odds with one another. Then a natural disaster occurs, and we all suddenly come together, helping one another. That being said, kudos to all the city, town, and county officials in Hidalgo County, the first responders, the medical professionals, and the volunteers who helped those stranded and in need last week when we got blasted with between 12 and 18 inches of water within a span of only two days. When help was needed, we were there for one another. Most of the photos shown here come courtesy of social media, courtesy of the FB page of Francisca Kiko Villarreal.
