Edinburg CISD Board approves new open enrollment policy

EDINBURG – The Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved the district’s open enrollment policy and procedures at a special called meeting on July 25.
“Edinburg CISD is now an open enrollment school district just like our surrounding districts in Hidalgo County,” ECISD Superintendent Dr. René Gutiérrez said. “We already have open enrollment for anyone that works in the Edinburg CISD community, but we went ahead and took it a step further now to open it up to any child in the surrounding areas that wants to come to Edinburg CISD.”
