Weslaco ISD names new Supe

During a special meeting Monday night, the Weslaco ISD board of trustees voted 5-2 to name Priscilla Canales as the district’s lone finalist in its search for a new superintendent. The dissenting votes were cast by Adrian Gonzalez and Richard Rivera. Canales, who earned a PhD from Texas A&M in 2003, is coming to Weslaco from Del Valle ISD, which is located in an unincorporated area of Travis County.
