For the last couple of weeks the national attention has been focused on Ferguson, Missouri and the police shooting of Michael Brown. The wall to wall press coverage, however, has proven extremely frustrating for those seeking to know the facts of the case. The police chief of Ferguson has undoubtedly helped muddy the waters with comments he made at a news conference, but the national news media have certainly stirred up the mud even more by their interpretation of what he said.
