Delgado’s conviction Are there more cases to follow?

Among the people out there who keep up with local news, who among you thinks we’ve heard the last of the Rudy Delgado story?

Bad state of irony. I wanted the Rudy Delgado bribery trial moved from Houston to McAllen so I could cover it, and then too much work came up, making it nearly impossible to attend last week’s trial, which actually began the week before.

For starters, based on the original criminal complaint, the feds had him nailed to the wall, thanks to a crooked attorney, Noe Perez, who was willing to cut a deal with the feds with the hope of a reduced sentence. If federal prosecutors think they have the chance to nail a state district judge who had just been recently elected to the 13th District Court of Appeals, full steam ahead.
