McAllen Mayoral Candidate Othal E. Brand Jr. says he knew “it” was probably going to come down the pike when he chose to run for mayor, but he was ready to deal with it.

As a kid growing up with the most towering public figure in South Texas, longtime McAllen Mayor Othal Brand Sr., O.E., as he’s called, said he always knew how tough politics could be.
