Another Mexican journalist murdered

Another Mexican news reporter has been slain by Mexico’s criminal element. The fourth killed in less than two months, according to the Mexico Daily News (BorderlandBeat.com); the second in the same state (Baja California Sur) in less than a month.

This time, the assassination took place on Good Friday, shortly before noon, in La Paz, on the Baja Peninsula. Maximino Rodriguez Palacios, 73, had just parked his car outside of a store and was about to remove a wheelchair from the rear seat to accommodate his handicapped wife when a white pickup truck pulled up behind him, and rounds shot from two high-powered rifles ended his life (Mexico Daily News).
