Wolverine Boys Track Finishes Strong
ALAMO - The 2019 boys track and field season ended once again on a strong note. While the beginning of the season saw several boys deciding not to run track this year the coaching staff put together a run at the end to finish the season on a positive.
At the 31-5A district meet the Wolverines tied for second place out of eight teams. The boys were led by Senior Cruz Gomez who won the 3200 and 1600m runs. His teammate, sophomore Williams Macias placed second in both events surprising many coaches and fans. Junior Derek Barrios defended his pole crown by winning again and his teammate sophomore Robert Balderas placed second to sweep this event as well. Junior Cristian Flores won the 100m dash and placed second in the 300m hurdles. Finally, our mile relay placed fourth to qualify to the are meet.
