Vipers’ six-game winning streak ends on one-point loss

EDINBURG - Vipers Head Coach Joseph Blair has a simple strategy when it comes to winning games.

Don’t turn the ball over, pass the ball around quickly, and make free throws.

Based on that, the first-year RGV Vipers coach can look at a stat sheet from any game and pretty much tell you if his squad won.

In the most recent game against the Santa Cruz Warriors, the assist-to-field goal ratio was low, the free-throw percentage was lower, and the turnovers were high. The result? A 92-91 loss, ending the Vipers six-game win streak.
