Local gym wins ‘Super Bowl’ of cheerleading
PHARR – Valley Cheer Elite Inferno, a senior large coed 3 team from Pharr, turned up the heat and brought home a D2 Summit National Championship! The Summit All Star Cheerleading Championship is the nation’s most prestigious competition for small gyms. It is the pinnacle of the cheerleading season for level 1-4 teams as well as restricted level 5 teams and is a bid only event.
Held at Walt Disney World Resort’s ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Fl. on May 13-14, the D2 Summit is the season-capping goal for competitive all-star teams. The 2017 D2 Summit showcased 800 teams with nearly 16,000 competitors from across the United States.
