Snowbirds show increase this year
I haven’t taken a formal survey, but it seems that the number of Snowbirds down here this winter are more numerous than last year, which is good news, obviously, for the local economy.
Give me a minute. Okay, just called one of the bigger RV parks around and asked, and sure enough, they said the numbers are up over last year.
“They say we’re nicer here than they are in Florida,” the woman who answered the phone told me.
I could have told them that. The people who live here are, for the most part, friendlier than those who reside in Florida, and it’s far less expensive to winter here. Plus, a lot of Floridians are snobs. They look down at RVs, trailers, motor homes. Not us. We love them. In fact, a lot of people who live in the RGV live in them full time.
