Last year there were a slew of television ads by attorneys soliciting business suing the producers of blood thinners. This year (Surprise! Surprise!) the cost of blood thinners has doubled and now cost (for all the big three brands) nearly $500 PER MONTH. In the United States litigation and advertising costs are the two big drivers of drug pricing.
