Truth Matters

The Mueller press conference and the president’s decision to impose import duties on Mexican goods are probably the two most prominent stories to hit the media in the last couple of weeks. Let’s take a look at them.

Robert Mueller pulled a James Comey in his brief farewell address that has Democrat presidential candidates as well as their House compatriots foaming at the mouth. Yet at the same time that he did so, he also said his report constituted his entire testimony to Congress and that he wouldn’t testify before that body because they already had the report in writing. The problem with his press conference is that he made statements in it that were at odds with his report (as well as with previous statements to the Attorney General). Attorney General William Barr then pointed that out in his own comments to the press.
