The First Memo

We were all subjected to a week of admonitions that the release of the House Intelligence Committee’s majority report would endanger national security and potentially result in the death of sources. Democrats in Congress (as well as the liberal news media) were apoplectic. Then the report was finally released after review by the White House, some grammatical changes, and a couple of alterations requested by the Democrat minority as well as the FBI. Before the memo was made public, however, Democrats were asking the Speaker of the House to can the Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee for amending the document before submitting it to the White House for official declassification.
