ALAMO-Pilar Palomo, 91, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at Comfort House in McAllen. Born in in Kyle, TX, he had lived in Alamo all of his life, and was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by a son, Francisco “Pico” Palomo. Mr. Palomo is survived by his wife of 69 years, Natalia G. Palomo, of Alamo; two sons, Juan “JP” (Maria Esther) Palomo, of San Juan, Roel (Sylvia) Palomo, of Alamo; a daughter-in-law, Maricela Palomo, of Alamo; a grandson who he raised, Hector (Maribel) Palomo, of San Antonio, TX; five grandchildren, Juan Palomo, Jr., Isla Iris Palomo, Cesar Palomo, Monica Palomo, and Roel Palomo, Jr.; and six great-grandchildren. A rosary was held Monday, Feb. 24, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 2 p.m. yesterday, Feb. 25, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment followed at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
