JOSE CRUZ PINEDA

SAN JUAN - Jose Cruz Pineda Sr., husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother was called home to be with the Lord on March 9, 2015, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He is now rejoicing with the love of his life, his wife, Senaida Pineda. They were married 53 years before her passing in 2009. Mr. Pineda was born in Lyford, Texas, on May 3, 1933. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War era. He was always proud of his service to his country. He was a humble, generous, loving, and dedicated family man who will be greatly missed by all.  Jose is preceded in death by his wife, Senaida Pineda;parents, Viviano and Paula Pineda; a grandson, Joshua Bravo; a daughter, Esmeralda Pineda; and his daughter-in-law, Frances Pineda. He is survived by his 10 loving children Noelia (Oscar) Salazar, Janie Pineda-Ray, Rolando (Melba) Pineda, Yolanda (Oscar) Rangel, Jesus (Gloria) Pineda, Alfredo (Maria) Pineda, Sophie (Daniel) Trevino, Jose C. Jr. (Celeste) Pineda, Chriselda (Jaime) Muñoz, Rodolfo Pineda; Laura (Steven Guillen) Pineda; 31 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren; a sister, Maria Suniga; a brother, Ted Pineda and his loyal companion Rusty. Memorial service took place at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 12, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment of cremated remains followed at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Military honors were conducted by American Legion Post 101 of Pharr. Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
