Pharr – Antonio S. Mendez, age 89, passed away Sunday morning, June 14, 2015 at the San Juan Nursing Home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Rodriguez Mendez and by two sons, Jose J. “Pepe” Mendez and Daniel Mendez, He is survived by children, Isidro (Celia) Mendez of Lake Jackson, TX, Luis (Molly) Mendez of Fredericksburg, TX, Leticia (David) Briones of Cottage Grove, MN, Jose G. (Nelda) Mendez and Antonio (Elva) Mendez, Jr. both of Pharr, Jose Antonio Perez, Juan Carlos Mendez, Omar Mendez, Minerva Mendez and Ivan Mendez and 21 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. Visitation was held on Tuesday afternoon, June 16, 2015 at Skinner Silva Funeral Chapel on West Sam Houston in Pharr with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7 pm. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Skinner Silva Funeral Chapel in Pharr with interment at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in McAllen. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Skinner Silva Funeral Home of Pharr.
