McALLEN — Daniel Moya, 51, died Sunday, May 31, 2015, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. Born in Brownfield, Texas, he had lived in McAllen since 1997 and previously of Lopezville. Mr. Moya had retired from PSJA ISD after 25 years of service. He was a proud member of the American Legion Riders Post 101, and a member of the VIPs. Daniel loved the Dallas Cowboys. He is preceded in death by his parents, Antonio Moya and Petra Ponce; a brother, Antonio Moya, Jr.; maternal grandparents, Raul Ponce, Sr. and Josefa Ponce. Daniel is survived by his wife, Clariza B. Moya of McAllen; two brothers, Ricardo Moya of Hurst, Texas, Oscar Hernandez of McAllen; two nieces, Natalie Marie Moya and Lorrie Ann Moya, both of Hurst, Texas; numerous nephews, nieces, godchildren, and cousins/brothers. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, June 3, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 4, 2015, at Immaculate Conception in Lopezville. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
