Friends say Mario Cantu was one of the good guys

It hardly seems possible to those who knew and loved Mario Cantu. How can a guy in the prime of his life, in tip-top shape, a runner, a tri-athlete, simply drop dead one day from a fatal heart attack while out jogging? The same question was asked last month when McAllen City Commissioner Scott Crane, 50, died from a heart attack while trying to complete a 26.2-mile marathon. But Cantu wasn’t out running a marathon when he died Sunday, Jan. 18th. He was just out for his simple daily jog at Alamo Middle School when his heart gave out.
