ALAMO - Roel Vela Jr., 30, died Monday, November 19, 2018, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.
Born in McAllen, he had lived in Alamo most of his life.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Inez and Froylan Carranza.
Roel is survived by his wife, Stephanie Leos; his parents, Roel Vela Sr. and Maria Vela; two brothers, Mark Vela, Isaias Vela; a nephew, Vladimir Vela; and paternal grandparents, Braulio and Altagracia Vela, all of Alamo. Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Friday, November 23, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. Cremation took place at Memorial Cremation Center in Edinburg.
Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
