Contractor, attorney hammer one another

EDINBURG -- The City of Edinburg recently settled several lawsuits originally filed in 2014 related to alleged shoddy construction at four city buildings, but Edinburg Councilman Gilbert Enriquez said that the general public isn’t being made aware of how this process works with regard to how it’s stacked in favor of the attorneys.
“At the taxpayers’ expense,” he said.
Ironically, one of the construction companies that was sued, Enriquez Enterprises, was started by his dad back in the mid-1970s. As time passed, the company’s founder let Gilbert Enriquez and his siblings run it. Today, Enriquez Enterprises no longer exists. Instead, Enriquez is president
