Co-conspirator Garza’s trial delayed until December

EDINBURG – The capital murder trial of the man accused of murdering 96-year-old “Marty” Knell, 40-year-old illegal immigrant and convicted felon Angel Mario Garza, has been delayed, yet again, and is now scheduled to begin Dec. 4, 2017.
Unlike the capital murder trial of his accused accomplice, Monica Melissa (Palacios) Patterson, it’s doubtful that Garza’s trial will take as long as that of his co-defendant: five weeks, not including closing arguments from the state and defense attorneys, scheduled for today (Nov. 1), after which the jurors will begin deliberations.
