JULIA DE LUNA
EDINBURG- Julia De Luna, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Tuesday, September 05, 2017, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.
Julia was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for over 30 years and took pride on being part of their choir. In 1946, she married the love of her life, Milo who passed away in 1991; Julia and Milo have reunited in heaven for eternity. She was a loving and caring woman that devoted herself to her family. Julia did not know what the word “can’t” meant, since she made everything possible. Mrs. De Luna enjoyed family gatherings at her home and always knew everything about everyone. She was always ready to travel and enjoyed gambling in Las Vegas. Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving, because it was almost time to celebrate her birthday. Her charisma and smile will be missed forever by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Emilio “Milo” De Luna; and a granddaughter, Rafaela “Polly” Perez.
Mrs. De Luna is survived by ten children, Dora (Tony Jr.) Nieto of Pharr, Armando (Mary) De Luna of Edinburg, Elma (Antonio) Gonzalez of Houston, Connie (Robert) Perez of Monte Alto, Pete (Nancy) De Luna of San Antonio, Becky (Armando) Solis, Robert (Sylvia) De Luna, Milo (Terri) De Luna, Jr., Steve (Alma) De Luna, George De Luna, all of Edinburg; numerous grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous; great-great grandchildren; and one brother, Ubence Resendez of Yakima, Washington.
Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Thursday, Sept. 7, at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. Funeral service took place at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
