A. HECTOR SOLIS

EDINBURG – A. Hector Solis, 73, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, May 6, 2017. Hector was a longtime resident of Edinburg, TX. He was a graduate of Edinburg High School and Pan American College. Hector was a true gentleman; loving, caring, and kindhearted. He always saw the positive in every situation and “had a heart that was bigger than his body.” Hector will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all those he had the opportunity to touch with his kind heart. He is preceded in death by his parents, Adolfo and Carmen Solis; and his sister, Olaya Solis. Hector is survived by his two children, Dolores Solis (Carlos “Jerry”) Salinas of Edinburg and Hector (Michelle) Solis of Austin; three grandchildren, Sydney Salinas of Edinburg, Hudson Solis, Harper Solis, both of Austin; three siblings, Eugenio R. (Victoria) Solis of Mercedes, Yolanda Solis of Edinburg, Lucinda “Lucy” Cavazos of McAllen; the mother of his children, Nelda Guerra of Edinburg; and his significant other, Esilda Zamora Solis of Edinburg. Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, May 8, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. Funeral service took place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
