Coach A. C. Jaime did not think Eduardo Uria could participate at the Pan American Race Walking Cup Trials in Philadelphia on Sunday after having been sick and experiencing fever of 102 degrees during the week. “He did not sound very well, but he not only participated, he won third-place and made the USA team that will be representing the USA in Lima, Peru on May 13th & 14th,” said Coach Jaime. “Eduardo’s work ethics are awesome and particularly getting prepared for this event. He deserves the honor of representing the USA in Lima, Peru and we are thankful to his teammates, PSJA Memorial High School 16-year-old sophomore Jonathan Aguilar, McAllen Memorial High School 15-year-old freshman Johan Espinoza and PSJA North High School 15-year-old sophomore Emely Antuna who usually accompany him on many of his 10, 15 and 20K practice workouts he normally does along I Road on weekends,” continued Coach Jaime. These athletes are four of the 38 club athletes who have earned 97 gold medals during the club’s 20-year history.
