EDINBURG - Elias C. “EC” Espinoza, 73, passed away Tuesday, March 18, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center. Mr. Espinoza had lived in Edinburg all of his life. Elias worked for the US Postal service for over 30 years. He was a faithful servant to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Jaime Espinoza; a brother, Abel Espinoza; and a sister, Elisa Rodriguez. Elias is survived by his wife, Consuelo Espinoza of Edinburg; three children, Monica (Jesus) Alaniz, Elias Rene Espinoza, Laura Espinoza, all of Edinburg; two grandchildren, Victoria and Brandon Alaniz; seven siblings, Samuel (Hilda) Espinoza of San Antonio, Isaac (Esperanza) Espinoza of Mission, Esther (Samuel) Pena of Raymondville, Eunice (Rev. Benjamin) De La Rosa of Brownsville, Rev. Lydia (Rev. Jose Luis) Salazar of McAllen, JP Charlie Espinoza, Joel (Lydia) Espinoza, both of Edinburg; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service Sunday, March 23, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service took place at 9 a.m. Monday, March 24, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Edinburg. Interment followed at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery. Pallbearers were Brandon Alaniz, Bobby Espinoza, Gene Espinoza, Marc Pena, Sam Pena, Jr. and Ben Pena. Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
