Edinburg CISD, Food Bank RGV launch School Food Pantry Program

EDINBURG – The Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District is partnering with the Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley to create a School Food Pantry Program. A recent study estimates that 37% of the children in Hidalgo County go to bed hungry every night. Choking back tears, Edinburg CISD Parental Involvement Assistant Norma Vela passionately describes the importance of the newly-created School Food Pantry Program at Kennedy Elementary School.
