New police academy

If Mexican cops come to this side of the border for law-enforcement training, they must first be polygraphed to ensure they’re not working for the drug cartels.
It’s just good common sense. Which means it probably won’t be implemented. As French Philosopher Voltaire once so accurately proclaimed in 1764: “Common sense is not so common.”
Last week, the City of Pharr, PSJA ISD and South Texas College (STC) inked an interlocal agreement (we’ll all work together and share resources) to construct a 62-acre regional training center where Valley cops and police candidates will train. Its official name: The South Texas College Regional Center for Public Safety Excellence.
