Pharr city manager defends his work

PHARR -- If Pharr City Manager Fred Sandoval wasn’t actually up for election May 9th, you might not have known it based on the campaign rhetoric tossed his way from the winning slate – Pharr Forward. In fact, in a pre-election story published in this newspaper May 6, one of the Pharr First candidates, A. Jimmy Garza, said the most common question he had to answer from would-be voters as he walked along the campaign trail had to do with Sandoval? Why is he getting paid $235,000?
