McALLEN – With so many crooked Valley cops making the headlines these days, it’s easy to forget this one simple fact — there are still some decent, honest cops walking the beat. In fact, it’s thanks to one clean cop that the dirty ones got found out in what’s come to be known as the Panama Unit Scandal. And now, in light of the long prison sentences handed down last week in Judge Randy Crane’s federal courtroom, this simple adage seems as true today as it ever was – Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time.
