Mayor says investigation into alleged voter fraud not a worry

Claims local TV station is biased

EDINBURG – This story promises to be a bumpy ride once it’s fleshed out, which won’t be this week. At least, however, we can lay the groundwork.
According to a DPS Texas Ranger spokesman, the Rangers are indeed investigating allegations that voter fraud occurred during last November’s Edinburg municipal election. Exactly who is being targeted in the investigation, the Rangers won’t say. The mayor? One commissioner? Two? More? No one knows for sure except those doing the investigating.
When asked Monday whether the Ranger investigation worries him, Edinburg Mayor Richard Molina dismissed the notion that he is guilty of voter fraud. As far as he is concerned, he did not commit any fraud last election, and when asked, he said that he can guarantee that there are no texts or recorded phone calls that will prove he is telling a lie.
