Esparza deserves board presidency

The McAllen ISD Board of Trustees is set to vote Wednesday afternoon at 5:30 for the reorganization of the school board. The logical choice for board president is Larry Esparza. Which means he probably won’t get it. He’s a former teacher, has a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree, and a law degree, but instead, the board presidency will probably go to Tony Forina who’s got a high school diploma; but more importantly, he’s tight with the board majority of which he’s a part.
Not to mention, Forina is tight with the AFT (American Federation of Teachers) McAllen branch, which seems to have his back.
