County property appraisals: about 6,000 protests filed so far

Getting your new property appraisal is almost as bad as April 15th depending on how much property you own.

Tax notices in Hidalgo County went out April 28th, and once again, the values have increased for most property owners.

According to Hidalgo County Chief Appraiser Rolando Garza, to date, approximately 6,000 protests have been filed with the Appraisal Office.
