There may be a valid reason why County Court-at-Law No. 6 Bailiff Oscar De La Cruz and his family live in a 3,283 square-foot Pharr residence recently valued by the Appraisal District at $281,999, and how the bailiff had enough money to drive an expensive Audi to work every day. Maybe De La Cruz had inherited money, who knows.
No doubt, though, the question of how a county bailiff could afford such luxuries will come out during the course of the federal investigation facing him after he was arrested last Friday and the criminal complaint against him was read in federal court Monday morning, charging him with narcotics trafficking.
