The City of Hidalgo prevailed in its fight against the BorderFest Association in the State District Court of Aida Salinas Flores, but the fight is far from over. There’s a lawsuit pending this fall. The city is the plaintiff. But the Association has countersued. The battle lines are drawn.
The Advance interviewed the attorneys representing the two parties – Ricardo Perez for Hidalgo, and Joe E. Garcia for the BorderFest Association. What they had to say about the case, complex in so many ways, could fill a book. Look for the complete story next week.
In the meantime, BorderFest 2016 will take place in Hidalgo next month, March 3rd through the 6th, at the State Farm Arena and not in McAllen at the Convention Center
