Mission Pats achieve 33-21 first-round playoff win over Donna Redskins

The Mission Veterans Memorial Patriots used the spectacular play of freshman quarterback Landry Gilpin to take command of the game and defeat the Donna Redskins 33-21 in a Class 5A Division I first round playoff battle at Donna Friday evening. The Patriots moved out to a 13-0 lead by the end of the first quarter, only to see the Redskins rally in the second period to gain a 14-13 advantage. The Patriots scored late in the second quarter to take a 19-14 lead going into intermission and built their margin to 33-14 by the end of the third quarter.
