LOUIE M. KIEFFER

EDINBURG – Louie M. Kieffer, 81, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at Edinburg Region Medical Center. He was born December 17, 1935 to Martin and Hazel Kieffer of Edinburg. He was a lifelong farmer in the Edinburg area. He and his wife, Wilma, raised 6 kids and were active parents leaders in band, orchestra, FFA, and 4-H.
Louie was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma S. Kieffer , his parents, Martin and Hazel Kieffer, two brothers, Laurie (Lorenzo) Kieffer and Fred Kieffer. He is survived by his sister, Margaret (Richard) Hesler of Olney, Illinois, his six children, Michael (Patti) Kieffer of San Angelo, Tx, Kimberly (Bruce) Orr of Burleson, Tx, Gregory (Patti) Kieffer of Rogers, Tx, Jeffrey (Velma) Kieffer of Lexington, Tx, Martha A. Hoke of Edinburg, Tx, and Rebecca (Gene) Connolly of College Station, Tx, 16 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Louie was a great man, loving husband and father who will truly be missed.
Visitation was held at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg on Monday, October 16, from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary. Funeral services took place Tuesday, October 17, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Burial followed at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hidalgo County Farm Bureau: Attention Louie M. Kieffer Memorial Scholarship, 507 E. Expressway 83, Pharr, TX 78577.
Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
