JOSE A. VARGAS
ALAMO - Jose A. Vargas, 95, died Friday, November 17, 2017, at McAllen Medical Center.
Mr. Vargas was born in Mexico and had lived in Alamo most of his life.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Elodia Torres Vargas; a brother, Jose Ramon Vargas; three sisters, Candida Ramirez, Rosa Escobedo, Maximina Delgado.
Mr. Vargas is survived by six children, Adelaida († Gilberto) Rodriguez, Ramiro (Celia) Vargas, Dominga (Esmerejildo) Cortez, Estela (Rene) Solis, Jaime Vargas, all of Alamo, Herminia (Jose) Saldana of McAllen; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Roberto Vargas of Pharr.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 6 p.m rosary and 7 p.m. prayer service Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alamo.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
